Why do you keep playing on private servers?

That all has its place, for sure.

There will always be potential griefing, but that's why there is the ability to ignore and tools to address bad actors. I have never tried building with rp servers before. It sounds really neat. I am against phasing because I like walk up RPs, but yes I have been victim to weirdos/erpers so I can see the appeal for phasing. I guess I'm ok with rolling the dice so to speak, but the building for sure would need to be phased. I'd love to see this in action, but sadly I don't think there are any RP servers. I think RP Heaven shut down :(
Epsilon WoW is 100% open and thriving but I do think that's about all that's left.

Paragon WoW might still be up to stuff?

I haven't actively played on a private server since around 2013-14. I have stuck around the scene with it piquing my interest from time to time, during which time I enjoy creating content regardless of if I plan to release it or not.

Late reply, but private servers can give different experience while playing WoW.

For me personally, I like features like that:
1) Vanilla+ such as Turtle WoW, additional content (quests, zones, raids, custom game mechanics)
2) Single Player experience - playing the game offline with AI bots (leveling up and doing all the dungeons/raids without help of other players, kind of a challenge)

I am even recording a complete 1-60 leveling of wow classic single player on YT: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAWQ3KGLBZGKueqt__Q-o4g and it feels so much different from the original game that I could say I am playing a completely different game from Warcraft Universe.

Classic+ content is def a high selling point since Blizz still can't be arsed to do it sadly

Most servers lost population after Classic release, but you know what you don't find on Blizz Servers ? Custom stuff, people still playing for the custom stuff, and many servers managed to do things that Blizzard always refused to add to the game

I can definitely see the appeal, I hopped onto Season of Discovery expecting lots of new quest lines and content, but eventually quit after approaching lvl 25 and seeing nothing apart from a few new runes.
