I don't think it should be a rule that it has to be included due to what other said. It will be less released repacks.

TB has a point and he is right, but if people compile the source and claim forward as their credit that's not cool..

Repacks suck in general. So I agree with Terrorblade here, not only you’ll help newbies by releasing a repack, but you’ll actually share useful piece of code :)

I agree.
If you are ready to share a repack. Genuinely be ready to share source-code as well.

If not, then do not bother with a release in the first place. I believe this can act as a very good passive filter to discourage low quality release posts. Too many times have i seen the shenanigans of "repack with player-bots" etc be shared where in the end of it all, it required you to join a discord. Subscribe to a subscription of some sort and then only to see said project director do some fuckery that renders the project "dead". Rinse repeat :caveBob:

It is a suggestion, nothing more. No need to get over-sensitive about it

So, I'm in a mixed bag with this one.

On one hand, yes, there is the licence agreement that the software is released under, however that is an issue between the poster and the issuer of the license.

If the license issuer were to contact us requesting a takedown due to breach of their licence terms we would comply, however imposing it to be mandatory on some repacks and not others based on them possibly containing GPL code seems like a massive headache for us, when it is an issue between 2 external parties.

Thought needs to be given to the irony of the situation given what the community is as a whole, and that is reproducing copyrighted material in breach of a licence (With Blizzard).
