I'm probably like most people who had issues with pointers when they were just starting to learn to program. I want to share with everyone a very good resource for explaining pointers. This is potentially one of the best explanations of pointers that I have ever found.

This is a link to a .edu website and may be blocked in your region, it shouldn't be but there's that possibility.

To point to something graphically or in real life, an arrow is often used, i.e. it points to something. If you see an arrow (->) in the code, then you know that this is an access via the pointer :)
