A few tools I use to generate geodata.

Use L2MapConv to generate the geodata file in l2j format. (make sure the .unr file is encrypted, you can use l2encdec for that in the case of a custom map.)
use HDG Editor to convert unnecessarily complex blocks to simple blocks (this is done autoamtically when you load the .l2j file and re-save it.)
Use L2J GeoEditor to automatically check all blocks and convert them to Complex, if necessary.
Lastly, use G3D Editor to manually fix the geodata.

I don't think adding a guide is necessary since the whole process is pretty intuitive.

You need JRE 1.8 for all of these tools.

Definitely, there are better options (paid of course)

What do you mean exactly by 'Classic to Interlude version?
Either way, you need to modify the l2mapconv h5 .bat file and set the correct parameters (the proper geo square for execution grounds, and your client's path), then run the .bat. If you did everything correctly, you should see a window where you can 'fly around' seeing the map, you just gotta tick the 'export geodata' option and click on 'build geodata', then the geodata file will be generated in the output folder, afterwards you can tweak it with any of the other programs that are in the pack (there's no tutorial but it's kinda intuitive, you'll have to experiment with them if you wanna make changes to the outputted file.)
