Official Clarification on releasing of resources.

Since the inception of our platform, we have had a number of instances where resources have been released in breach of the licence terms of that resource, and I would like to provide some clarification on the matter.

If you are not the copyright holder AND/OR licenced to release a specific resource, (ie, it is open source, and you have provided all attributions required by the licence) your resource will be removed and action may be taken against your account.

If you are sharing other people's resources, CHECK THE LICENCE FIRST, that you are allowed to redistribute their work.

Repeated breach of resource licence agreements will result in your ability to share resources being revoked, and in severe cases, account termination.

To release content that you are NOT the copyright holder, nor licensee too - we have set out guidelines which you must follow. Breach of these guidelines will see the resource removed, and possible action taken against your account.

You’re right, that’s why we’re about to rework the guidelines soon.

Was thinking this - 90% of emulation is a leak, plus the stuff that is not a leak do people even own that? since it's all technically owned by blizzard's IP claims.

Furthermore, I probably completely misunderstood the thread. What exactly can we not release? Are we allowed to share other people's work if we credit them, etc?

Most the stuff being leaked isn't blizzard IP since that'd only be clientside and possibly database stuff.
