Avatars minimum size recommended

Hello, I would like to recommend changing minimum avatar size recommended from 400x400px to 300x300px
Not everyone has such large image avatars..

Maybe same problem for me?
I have an avatar which is 480x690 but when i upload it, it shows up like the picture is missing on the server. :s
