Some may remember I was involved with a CMS project called WebWoW, which was widely used in it's day. After WebWoW was sold by the owner I got involved with some other projects. FrozenCMS was one of them.

Our creative minds;
FrozenCMS is Content Management System focusing on flexibility, mobile ready and ease of use for both the end user and 3rd party developers. We aim to achieve this goal by using the Zend Framework 2 with Twig as template engine.
By using FrozenCMS' Extension system you get to decide what you'll be using it for. WoW, Aion, eCommerce or social network. Anything goes, FrozenCMS is definitely not 'just a wowCMS'.
Our progress;
FrozenCMS has been in the pipelines for approximately 4 months and is progressing well. Although we do not have a demo at this time, we do have some early screenshots to show you.
This is the Administrator Control Panel design, a fully responsive design including js/css effects to further enhance your experience! To top if off, it doesn't just work perfectly on your PC or Mac, but on your smartphone and tablet as well.

Why Zend Framework 2 and not Laravel/Symfony 2/CodeIgniter/custom ?
Codeigniter was about 2 years ago the leading framework. Exactly this is what caused frameworks such as Symfony to develop Symfony 2 and Zend Framework to develop Zend Framework 2. We believe Codeigniter is stuck in the same structure and didn't seem to improve while others did.
Laravel has excellent documentation, but we feel it's following the same road as Codeigniter. Although Symfony is a fantastic platform with a wide range of features, we believe it takes to much time to load.
At Frozen Digital we don't like to reinvent the wheel and we therefor decided not to develop our own framework. With the above in mind we selected Zend Framework 2 to work with. In this article you can read more about the popular frameworks and their communities.
But Zend Framework isn't the most popular framework, so why Zend Framework 2?
Zend Framework is since 2005 the leading framework in PHP and is being developed not just by their own community but also by Google/Microsoft and Strikeiron. Zend Framework 2 uses 100% OOP and is the most updated framework. It also makes use of the latest PHP features such as namespaces, closures and more.
Why Twig and not Smarty, Dwoo or some other?
