Official Changelog #22 - Download Limitations

In response to the ongoing leeching issues on emudevs, we are implementing several measures to prevent or minimize this behavior. As part of the upcoming major emudevs update, we have introduced the following changes:

Resource Manager Updates​

1. Daily Download Limitations
   • To ensure fair usage of resources, we have set daily download limits based on user groups:
     • Normal Members: 1 download every 24 hours
     • Prime Members: 5 downloads every 24 hours
     • Divine Members: 10 downloads every 24 hours
     • Mythical Members: Unlimited downloads with no limitations
2. Like System Adjustment
   • Based on community feedback, we have disabled the ability to unlike a resource once it has been liked. Previously, users were required to like a resource to download it, and some would then unlike it afterwards. This change is intended to prevent disrespect towards uploaders, as a 'like' should signify genuine appreciation.

This is just the start of our leeching prevention efforts. More updates will be coming in the upcoming weeks. We believe these measures will help maintain a respectful and fair environment for all members. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to improve our platform.

Yes, this prevents leechers from downloading resources that other users, including myself, have spent their free time creating for the community.
I have a few resources that are downloaded about five times daily from newly created accounts. Sometimes, those leechers download EVERY SINGLE resource I have ever uploaded and never see them online again.

I get that you are pissed about there being a paywall (which there really isn't in reality), but if you spent hours creating resources for the community, how would you feel about newly created accounts downloading your resources and then never see them online again?

So, my question to you is, if you think the download limit is bad, how would you prevent leeching?

I understand your frustration, and it may seem like we're just after money, but that's definitely not the case.

It's also a bit surprising that you're complaining about the change without suggesting an alternative solution to the issue. We didn't make this decision without reason—several people, including staff, have reported the leeching problem.

Additionally, it's peculiar that both you, @Sinistah, and @WIXXZI don't seem to care much about EmuDevs. Why is @WIXXZI complaining? Since the start of 2024, he's logged in twice, and that was just yesterday. It seems he logged in only to complain, so why should I take his post seriously?

The same goes for you—you've logged in six times this year. You both are not very active; you just come to complain. Without the community suggesting a better solution, this change will remain in place, as I don't see a more efficient way to prevent this issue.

Just because you donated and paid an upgrade doesn't mean I treat you different to any other user. I just don't take your comment seriously because you just log in to complain, the fact that I have to repeat myself, just shows that you didn't quite understand the core message of my reply - nice troll.

And honestly, I don't need anyone's luck lol.
